About Us

CT Taxpayers Coalition is a voice for those who feel like they have no voice. We are here to mobilize CT residents and elected officials to be a force behind the successful push for tax reform. We are concerned citizens of Connecticut with experience in law, government, taxes, media, and medicine. We are tired of working hard and paying too much so government can thrive. Let’s keep Hartford accountable.

Dr. Amy Chai, MD, MS

A physician and independent contractor who ran for US Congress in CT-3 as an Independent in 2022. She has first hand struggles with issues of self-employment, and has at time found that taxation levels and childcare costs made work—even as a physician—little more than a breaking even proposition. She also cares for the poorest and most at risk patients in Connecticut, and has seen how funding meant to help the vulnerable does not always work the way we as taxpayers would like. Lately, she has taken on a project called, “Speak Life—New Haven” as a way to help local residents who struggle to obtain the information they need create a better life for themselves and their families.

"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."

Thomas Jefferson
